WOW IT'S CRAZY THAT IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS. I have loved every minute of it for sure. Hard moments, but so worth it.
This week we got a referral to see a woman who has been inactive for 20 years and she finally reached out to her brother who was the one who referred her and said that the church could come help her with her orange tree. So all 4 sisters were up climbing this tree to get ALL the oranges on the tree. We had so many scratches EVERYWHERE. Bet you didn't know that orange trees had thorns(; We ended up with 27 bags full of them and she made us take them with us when we left. We got to donate them and give them away to whoever. It was actually amazing because anytime a conversation with someone got awkward it was... "So do you want some oranges, we have a trunk full of them?" HAHA it worked out very well.
Our lessons with our Portuguese investigator are going really well! We had a lesson a couple days ago and we brought a friend who just got back from a mission in Brazil and he was able to translate a little better for us. She came with a LOT of questions. She has a friend who texts her all the different questions to ask us- it's very intense and hard lol. But finally in the middle of the lesson, she put her phone away and said that she was very impressed with our answers and wanted to hear what we had prepared for her. She is progressing a lot and I am excited to see where it goes(: The subject line in the email was actually one of the questions that we had been asked lol.
All of our baptisms are this week!!! We are so excited! Updates to come next week(:
Sorry this email is very short. The week went by so quick I don't even remember it!
The picture with Sister Miller holding a towel was because someone who has a bad shoulder in the ward needed to heat it up for his shoulder and one of the investigators went to do it and it accidentally, kind of, almost, I am not sure caught on fire and the whole building smelt like smoke. We ran into the kitchen to help and then people kept running into the kitchen thinking that the missionaries had been the ones who did it... HAHA it was very awkward but just thought I would share.
The other is our investigator Mae who just had a birthday and is getting baptized this week! Her and her mom both(:
LOVE YOU ALL & THANK YOU FOR YOUR EMAILS, ETC (:
