Before I Was Nothing Mazza

Okay so to start, the YSA sisters had to move into our apartment because of an incident that happened at their apartment, LONG STORY. But so this week has been chaotic with 4 sisters living in a one bedroom one bath apartment lol trying to get everything done. It has been SO FUN though. Sister Hammond is going home tomorrow and Sister Carter is actually from Highland, she lived about 5 minutes away from me, but we had only just met now! Small world.

We have been teaching this woman who has been investigating in the church for quite some time now. Awhile ago her cat was super sick and she thought he was going to die-- she said she had never prayed more in her entire life and lo and behold, the cat lived. That was her sign that Christ loved her. And then.. the other day her ex came to visit her in her apartment and left the door open and the cat ran away. She thinks something might have gotten to the cat because she has looked everywhere and so when we met for our lesson she was very distraught and thought that this was a punishment for her because she let her ex come visit her. We felt super bad, but it was a hard lesson to teach...

DENNIS GOT BAPTIZED. I am so grateful that I got the chance to meet him and help him on this path. Dennis is AMAZING! I gave the talk on the Holy Ghost and I was grateful to be apart of that as well. It was funny, he came up out of the water and looked at one of the witnesses and saw that he was giving him the thumbs up and Dennis goes, "Oh hey, how are you doing guy?" and later after we were cleaning up, we called him Brother Mazza and he was like "Oh yah, that's right! I am Brother Mazza... before I was nothing Mazza.." HAHA we could not stop laughing.

Dennis took us out to this place called Trail Dust Town and it is SO CUTE. We went to a restaurant called Pinnacle Pete and got steaks. (If you wear a tie to this restaurant they will cut it off and hang it on the ceiling, so ties were EVERYWHERE). They do awesome gun shows and reinactments there so I definitely want to come back to see that when I am home!

HALLIE AND MAE GOT BAPTIZED. It's an incredible story. Zach, the husband, has been less active for a long time and was struggling with a lot of different things. Hallie and Mae weren't members. We were meeting with Hallie and Mae and so Zach started to turn his life around so that he could baptize and confirm his wife and daughter and it was amazing to see the change in him! Hallie and Mae have been so fun to work with, they are hilarious and Mae is the smartest 8 year old I have ever met. Their whole family has just taken a 180 and is so much happier! I am grateful for them and for the opportunity I had to get to know them better!

This man named Lemine, (YSA investigator), who is apparently a prince in Africa, took us all out to dinner. He is a very cool guy who had so many stories to tell us lol. FUNNY, so never ever have I been told that I was quiet and shy, and since I have been out here I have gotten that more than ever! He would be in the middle of the story and everyone would just be listening and he would stop and "Sister Cooper why are so you quiet?" and then continue with his story HAHA. So apparently I am quiet?

Sadly, the day has come and Sister Johnson is leaving me. She is going to the Gila Valley to be an STL! I am taking over the area and getting Sister Grant as my new comp! I will meet her tomorrow(:
That is everything for this week! Hope you all have a great week, thank you for your emails!

LOVE SISTER COOPER
