EPISODE FIVE: CLEANING THINGS UP AROUND HERE

I just wanted to start by thanking everyone who emailed me this week. Last week was REALLY HARD for me and I definitely needed help, those emails were an answer to prayers. This week was leaps and bounds better! We needed to make a trip up to the mission office to get stuff, and while we were there I decided to meet with the mission president. I basically told him everything that I was thinking, feeling, etc. and he was AMAZING in all the ways he helped me. He shared a lot of amazing things and gave me a blessing and it made the biggest difference for me this week. HAHA I was in his office for almost 2 hours (my poor companion lol) but he just kept telling me stories after stories, sharing tons of scriptures, role playing with me, etc. etc. because he didn't have any other meetings so he just kept talking HAHA) I love my mission president. HE IS THE BEST!

We are getting smartphones soon HAHA. The group of missionaries that I came out with will probably be the last missionaries to have tablets AND smartphones, because after this it will only be smartphones. It is so weird how much of an impact technology has nowadays. I thought that coming on a mission would bring me further from technology not closer HAHA, but it's powerful when used the right way.

BOY DO I SURE HAVE A CRAZY STORY FOR YOU GUYS. So we got a call saying that this man needed help boxing things up because they had to be out of their apartment. I was convinced that it was going to be fun because it is different than a normal day on the mish. BUT I WAS WRONG. We showed up and asked what he wanted us to do and he said that the kitchen packed up because THEIR HOUSE WAS OVERRUN WITH COCKROACHES. They were EVERYWHERE, I kidd you not. He had no gloves or cleaning supplies, etc. So my comp and I stepped outside to make a phone call to the Elders Quorum president who helps us out a lot... the best thing we got out of that was that he had a cat (named Dash) that could "scare" the cockroaches out... ok thanks ?? So we went to Walmart to get gloves, cleaning supplies, and bug spray. (Does bug spray keep cockroaches or possibly bed bugs that this guy could've had away? No... but we felt better having it so we bought that too HAHA) When we got back, we opened the cabinet and TONS of them started going EVERYWHERE. And to make it all better, my trainor has the biggest fear of bugs... so she was just TRYING not to throw up... and the little OCD side of me was exploding. my heart broke for this guy. He was smoking in the other room while we were cleaning. There are so many ways that the gospel could help him, but he is just in a bad spot. We cleaned the best we could and then left. Keep him in your prayers, as bad as it was to try to clean all of that, I know he needed the help. (BTW, yes mom- the clothes were washed IMMEDIATELY, and we showered like 4 times)

HAHA everyone pray for me too because I am already starting to gain weight. I am on a bike? How do you gain weight when you are biking too? HAHA IDK BUT IT'S HAPPENING. Don't worry I am gonna start exercising more lol. GUESS WHAT ELSE? I ate a baked potato the other day. For those of you who don't know- I hate mushy potatoes. BUT these members were kind enough to feed us. Did I enjoy it? Not really. But I didn't throw up, soooo that is progress I think. HAHA my comp and the other set of sisters were so surprised lol((;

We have had a lot of luck with finding new people to teach this week! I love finding people. It's so awkward and you definitely get rejected A LOT. But hey, the most fearless missionaries are the ones who get rejected the most. AND ESPECIALLY if they find out you're from Utah. I don't know what it is, but I have gotten a lot of heat for being from Utah lol. Even from the members HAHA. "You're not the only Mormons yahknow" , "Oh you're from Utah, I'll try not to hold it against you, have a nice day " , and tons of other really long lectures I get about it HAHA. LOVE IT.

Got a haircut incase anyone was wondering... Haha it was so dead it needed to go. I cut like 4 inches HAHA. I'll send pictures later.

Anyways, sorry this is so long. Thanks for listening HAHA!

Love, Sister Cooper
