Spreading the Word?
This is Billy.
My Mom sent me a starter pot of flowers. These are the little sprouts.
Found one of the pennies my parents had left at the temple.
HEY EVERYONE(:
GOT THE HAIRCUT: 4 inches if you can't tell in pictures woot woot.
THIS WEEK WAS THE BEST EVER. My comp and I had a lot of finding time and so we just went crazy. We talked to EVERY single person we saw walking outside. We ended up getting 45 QGC (quality gospel conversations: when you are able to bring up the gospel in some way and commit them to doing something), 7 new investigators, 98 AC'S (attempted contacts: anytime you get past the typical small talk conversation), and 3 people commit to baptism. Finding is honestly my favorite part. In our mission we have what is called "Standards of Excellence" which is where every week we have a goal of: 70 QGC'S, 4 new investigators, 2 baptismal dates, and 2 investigators attending church. No set of sisters has ever achieved the standards of excellence. But Sister Johnson and I are ON THE RUN. We are so determined to be the first sisters to get it. Sadly, we didn't this week. BUT, stay tuned to see how we do next week(;
Let me tell you all about Dennis. HE IS MY FAVORITE EVER! LOL I am already looking forward to being able to come back and visit him after I go home HAHA. He always brings me sprite to our lessons, he figured out real quick that I was obsessed HAHA. He has been catholic his whole life so he is struggling a little bit with the changes- but he is making so many big steps in coming closer to joining the church and being baptized. It has been amazing to see the effect it has had on his life already!
FUNNY STORY TIME:
SOO we were on bikes a lot this week (love it) and were biking down this long street and I asked my comp if she could ride her bike without the handlebars, she quickly and confidently said yes. We both are stupid and started to attempt it HAHA. (I can only imagine Heavenly Father looking down watching us do this) And really quickly her bike tire takes a sharp turn towards the curb and she gets ahold of the handlebars and pulls the brake HARD. So she slides off the seat and almost flies off her bike, while the back tire shoots up and is way above her head HAHA. Thankfully she didn't fall, but I had to stop for awhile to contain my laughter(; A member in our ward drove by shortly after and there were several construction workers who witnessed it HAHA. She was not too happy about that lol...
#2 There is a single woman in our ward who has had a flood in her apartment, appendix removed, and totalled car all within the same month and so we have been trying to keep her spirits up. We decided to buy her a pie (lol Sister Johnson chose to buy pie? ) So she puts the pie box in her bike basket and starts to take her bike lock off and the bike falls over, PIE FLIES, and all the Book of Mormons as well. (I know we are supposed to spread the word and stuff, but not like that hehe(; ) ANYWAYS, it was rough- but hilarious.
OKAY SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
So I was reading in Ether 6 (I'm not gonna explain it all because I invite you all to go read it!!!) But I loved in verse 9, that they continued to praise and be thankful to God in EVERYTHING, no matter what they were going through. And the minute they hit land, the first thing they did was thank Him. If I had just hit land I would've been going crazy or something, but the FIRST thing they did was thank Him. And that just made me think about when do we stop thanking God? When it gets hard? It is so easy to be a missionary when everything is going good. But we should be turning to God when things are going good just as much as the times that we are struggling, and thanking him for the experiences and tender mercies that we may not even notice. Can't wait to hear how you all liked reading that(;
SORRY MY EMAILS ARE SO LONG. I just feel like a dog that gets let out of its cage when I get a chance to tell you all how AMAZING missions are, and how much fun it is! It is work for sure, but I love it(:
HAVE A GOOD WEEK(:
Love, Sister Cooper ((:
