THIS IS A GOOD ONE!

#bestweekever no time to waste...

sunday: "okay zone, our focus is F.I.R.E. and this week is F for fasting. fast from something that you need to get rid of."

monday: "ok we about to make some sacrifices. what do we do? pray."

tuesday: EXCHANGES WITH SISTER GARNER
*our comp study* Alma 41:7 "These are they that are redeemed of the Lord; yea, these are they that are taken out, that are delivered from that endless night of darkness; and thus they stand or fall; for behold, they are they own judges, whether to do good or do evil."
-BE YOUR OWN JUDGE. Choose to stand.
+ a quote from F Enzio Busche "... we cannot grow until we know what is holding us back."
-what are you going to give to God?

wednesday: "BREAK UP WITH THE WORLD" + HAPPY FOURTH
*ok if you haven't heard of ^^ talk/fireside by hank smith then what're you doinnggggg with your life?
-D&C 25:10 "..thou shalt lay aside the things of this world, and seek for the things of a better." this is a break up line for the world. ((;
-the church started in NY and in D&C 38:32 they are told to go to ohio. verse 37 says, "and they that have farms that cannot be sold, let them be left." (you think about farms and don't think much, but to them they were their lives) COULD YOU LEAVE LIFE BEHIND IF GOD ASKED YOU TO? what would you not be willing to give up?
>he makes a joke about how we can't do the splits from ohio to NY... can't do the splits with the world and God... sorry?
-he wants the things that you are NOT willing to give up. if you love Him, prove it. give it to Him.
-i was given a choice between the world and the Savior. i chose the Savior. the best decision i have ever made was to give up something i loved to the God i loved even more. he has never forgotten me for it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA((:
the work doesn't stop, but we did get to go to a bbq that one of our investigators (that we had to pass on to the YSA missionaries) was throwing and it was fun to be around her family and that she was willing to take us into her home on a holiday(:

then we were able to go to this park where there were TONS of people that we got to talk to and there fireworks for the last little bit we were there that we were able to see(: it was a good day!

thursday: ZONE CONFERENCE
-D&C 93:39 "that that wicked one cometh and taketh away light and truth."
-3 Nephi 27:27 "what manner of men ought ye to be?"
>who do you need to be? what can you do to become that person?
all of zone conference was about sacrifices and what can we sacrifice to be better missionaries and show our love to God? it was incredible.
we have really been trying to refine ourselves even more this week.

friday: twas the day of miracles
-we were in the middle of a lesson with one of our investigators on date for baptism and his roommate comes outside and says, "i don't know what brought me out here but i heard you guys talking and i want to be baptized."
it was a miracle for us. both of them are really trying to change and turn their lives around.

BOMB COMP STUDY
-awesome song we were listening to by the one and only Hawk Nelson and it says, "i keep running cause i've always been afraid that if i stop then i'll know the demons that i face. i got to build up the courage just to say i need more than you can offer me."
>DO WE HAVE THE COURAGE TO SAY THAT WE NEED MORE THAN WHAT THE WORLD CAN OFFER US? you cannot grow until you know what's holding you back...(;
-one thing we talked a lot about was if you are in a bad mood, etc. then you either are not spending enough time with the Lord or you need to repent.
-Mosiah 8:8 "they were lost in the wilderness for the space of many days, yet they were diligent."
>in this story, king limhi sent some of his people to go find where their people that they had left were. the people went out and found the jaredite ruins and the 24 plates. they thought that the ruins were from their people and so they returned with the plates. until Ammon comes and they realize that their people are still alive. those searchers were probably discouraged that the plan they had didn't carry through. they were lost, but continued being diligent. it was because they were able to plan precisely and execute flexibly that they were able to find the plates as well as one day finding Ammon. how can we apply that to our life?

saturday:
-it was 114 degrees and our car AC doesn't work. i told my comp to pray that it would turn on, she did, and two seconds later it blasted way cold air. #miracle
-after a lot of unlucky visits and knocked doors we started to head home for dinner (didn't have an apt.) and billy texted and took us out to chilis! #miracle
-the whole day was full of tender mercies and miracles but too long for this email ((:

sunday:
-our investigator J came to church today!!! he had his white shirt and tie that the members gave him on(: nothing makes me happier than to see our investigators who set aside the time and get suited up for church. everyone pray for him that he can keep pushing through the things he is going through!
-MONSOON TIME!!!!
we came out of our dinner apt. to down pouring rain, loud thunder, lightning... here in Tucson there are many roads with signs that say if flooded don't drive through (because you will get stuck and ruin your car...) but we started our way back home and only got so far until we were surrounded by HUGE puddles and flooded roads and couldn't go anywhere to get us home... we drove uphill into this neighborhood and parked our car and some other missionaries with a truck had to come save us HAHA. monsoons are wild...

ANWAYSSSS... longest email ever i apologize. but this week was hands down one of the best. i hope that we can all find that one thing that is holding us back and break up with it. our Heavenly Father is calling, we need to be ready to come to His call. I love you all and am so grateful for you and your prayers.
